“Agricom” Ltd was founded in 2005. Our main activity is grain trade, i.e. its import and export. To be more specific, we mainly trade grain (80%), and partially corn, soya, etc (20%). Grain is transported by the sea and railways, and is mostly distributed in Georgia; however some is also exported to Armenia, the country that relies on import since it doesn’t have a seaport.
Bank of Georgia is one of our best and major partners among other banks. Quite often, we make common decisions, work jointly on different projects, conduct consultations on regular basis, and share ideas. It was Bank of Georgia that helped us to strengthen partnership with “BUNGE. The most interesting part of our relation is Commodity Trade Finance -a big step forward. CTF is very popular in Europe and the US, but not so much in Georgia. It requires a great sense of confidence from the bank and fulfillment of that confidence by the customer. Certainly, the relation is based on some guarantees, but still greatly depends on mutual trust, which is due to the right relations between the bank CEO and us. We have been working this way all this time, and do hope to continue likewise in the future.
